COIDA Compensation Calculator 2024

Use this guide to estimate your COIDA compensation. Final amounts are determined by the Compensation Commissioner based on medical evidence and earnings.

Temporary Disability Calculation

Formula: Monthly Earnings × 75% = Monthly Benefit

Subject to the annual maximum earnings ceiling. If you earn above the ceiling, the ceiling amount is used.

Permanent Disability Lump Sum

For disabilities under 30%, multiply the disability percentage by the prescribed lump sum factor. This is paid once.

Permanent Disability Pension

For disabilities over 30%, you receive a monthly pension calculated as a percentage of your earnings, payable for life.

Death Benefits

Spouse receives 40% of earnings. Each child receives 20% (maximum 2 children). Funeral expenses are capped at the prescribed limit.
